Coimbatore blast verdict

Coimbatore, Oct 8 2007: A court in Coimbatore today released 84 accused in the serial blasts case. Over 168 persons were found guilty and charged under various sections.

Of these, one accused died in prison and another turned approver. Of the remaining 166 accused, 84 have been released and 82 have been charged under section 120 b amounting to conspiracy. On February 14, 1998, a series of bomb blasts went off during a rally killing 58 and left many injured.
