UPA-Left panel on nuclear deal holds 4th meeting

The
UPA-Left
panel
on
the
Indo-US
nuclear
deal
held
its
fourth
meeting
here
today,
amid
indications
that
the
two
sides,
despite
widening
differences,
would
still
remain
engaged
to
make
last
ditch
attempts
to
end
the
logjam
over
the
pact.
Briefing reporters after the two-and-a-half hour meeting, Committee Convener and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the two sides shared their perception on various aspects of the deal.
He said discussions were also initiated on the implications of the deal on the country's foreign policy and security cooperation.
The next meeting of the panel would be held on October 22, he said. Earlier, the panel's next meeting was slated to be held on October 14.
