Two shot dead in Jamui
Jamui, Oct 9 (UNI) Armed activists of the proscribed CPI(Maoist) today gunned down two persons, including a businessman, at Bamdah Bazar under Chandramandi police station in Jamui district.
Police said about ten armed activists of the CPI(Maoists) attacked the shop of Sameer Kumar. They opened fire indiscriminately, which resulted in Sameer sustaining serious injuries.
The naxalites also opened fire on an eyewitness Umesh Modi, who was standing nearby.
Both victims succumbed to their wounds on way to a hospital, the police added.
After the incident, the armed activists also splashed pamphlets, alleging that both the victims were police informers, the police said adding massive combing operation had been launched in the area to nab them.
