Two Assam Rifles jawans killed in blast

Imphal, Oct 9 (UNI) Two jawans of 21 Assam Rifles were today killed in a bomb blast at Umathel in Thoubal district.

Earlier, on September 30 night, a jawan of 21 Assam Rifles had died in an encounter with cadres of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), police said.

Police and AR sources said the exact cause of death was not known since there was no evidence of any attack from any side with the area being well sanitised by troops after the September 30 encounter.

Police have informed that it was enquiring into the blast.
