Trinamool activist's body recovered
Nandigram, Oct 9 (UNI) The body of Lalu Giri, a Trinamool activist killed in yesterday's clashes, was recovered today from under the Bhangabera bridge on the crossing point of Nandigram and Khejuri, East Midnapore Superintendent of Police G A Srinivasan said.
A meeting was being held here by Trinamool activists under the chairmanship of Bhumi Uchhed Protirodh Committee (BUPC) leader Sisir Adihkary to decide the party's future course of action.
Meanwhile, a 12-hour bandh called by the CPI(M) in Khejuri and BUPC supporters in Nandigram, passed off peacefully.
Police was patrolling all the sensitive areas in both Khejuri and Nandigram. No one had been arrested so far.
The body of CPI(M) leader Manas Mandal, killed in yesterday's clashes, was, meanwhile, cremated in his village Kotai.
