Nomination for MP Assembly bypoll

Bhopal, Oct 9 (UNI) Four nominations were filed today for the Assembly by-election in Lanji constituency in Balaghat district even as ruling BJP announced candidature of former minister late Dilip Bhatere's wife Rajeshwari Bhatere from the seat.

The byelection was caused due to the demise of Mr Bhatere.

Mr Sukhlal Prasad and Mr Vijay from the Rashtriya Samanta Dal, Mr Satyavan and Mr Kishore from the SP filed their nominations.

Meanwhile, the Gondwana Ganatantra Party today declared Mr Rajeshwar Choudhary as its official candidate.

Main Opposition party Congress had not announced the name of its candidate. It was being expected that Union Minister Kamal Nath would declare the name here on October 11.

It was being expected that BJP and Congress candidates would file their nominations on October 12 -- last date for filing nominations.

Scrutiny of nominations would take place on October 13, while names could be withdrawn by October 15.

Polling would be held on October 30, while counting would take place on October 30.
