Kolkata gets its first 'Parx' store for Eastern region

Kolkata, Oct 9 (UNI) The Raymond Apparel Ltd today opened it first exclusive Parx store for the eastern region in Kolkata.

Parx, launched in 1998 is a leading brand of the mother comapany, which caters to the men's fashion clothes and accessories. The others are Park Avenue, Manzonni and Zapp. Colour Plus Fashions Limited is another brand of the company.

''This is our first exclusive outlet for Parx in the Eastern India and altogether we have 15 outlets across the country,'' Raymond Apparel President Shreyas Joshi told UNI on the sidelines of the launch of the Autumn Winter Collection for men at the store.

Talking about the business potential in the Eastern region, Mr Shreyas said the region contributes upto 25 per cent of the total profit of Rs 600 crore from the Raymond Apparels alone.

Altogether turnover of the Raymond Apparels including other brands last fiscal was Rs 800 crore, he added.

''We are growing at a rate of 40 per cent in the region and we are planning to have one more exclusive store by this year,'' Mr Joshi informed.

The company, which mainly caters to the men's fashion and style since 1925, had recently launched its women's formal collection in Park Avenue.

''We are soon coming up with 16 more counters for women clothings in the city keeping in mind the burgeoning growth in the number of Corporate woman,'' he said adding that plans on are on to have women formals in Parx.

With its own Design Studio at Thane in Mumbai and one in Italy, the company also has a 50:50 Joint Venture with Italian brand GAS to open outlets in India and Middle East.
