Kolkata and adjoining areas receive moderate rainfall

Kolkata, Oct 9 (UNI) Kolkata and its adjoining areas today received light to moderate showers making the weather pleasant throughout the day.

The Alipore Met office recorded 48.9 mm rainfall during the past 24 hours.

The maximum temperature for the day was 28.9 degree Celsius, three degree below normal, while the minimum was 23 degree Celsius, two degree below normal.

The maximum relative humidity was 96 per cent.

The Met office forecast a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of thunder showers in some areas.
