BSF commandos shoot dead cattle smuggler

Coochbehar, Oct 9 (UNI) BSF personnel shot dead a cattle smuggler at the Madhyakarala Indo-Bangaldesh border area at Dinhata here last night.

Coochbehar Inspector General (IG) P J Rao said here today that about ten miscreants were trying to smuggle cattle from across the border. When the BSF personnel tried to stop them, they attacked and injured one of the Armymen.

Consequently, the BSF jawans opened fire and shot dead one of the smugglers.

However, the others managed to escape, the IG added.
