13 killed in TN accidents

Chennai, Oct 9 (UNI) Thirteen people were killed and several injured in three road accidents in Tamil nadu early today.

Reports received here said six people, including two women, were killed and seven injured when a state-owned bus rammed into a stationary lorry at Cheppakkam near Vepur in Cuddalore District.

According to police, four people died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries at the Vridhachalam Government and Tiruchirapalli Government Hospitals respectively.

The injured were admitted to the Tiruchirapalli Government Hospital.

The Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation Bus was proceeding to Chennai from Madurai when the mishap occurred.

In an another incident at Thoppur in Dharmpuri District involving two lorries, five people were killed and three injured. The victims were drivers aand labourers.

A report from Ambur said two people travelling in a van were killed and three injured, when the vehicle rammed into the road median and overturned while trying to overtake a vehicle.
