Mah: Wife murders husband, arrested

Thane, Oct 8: A housewife in Thane was today arrested by the police for allegedly murdering her husband.

Police said Sudhir Kaviskar, 45, was unemployed and a used to drink a lot, leading to friction with his wife, who used to work parttime.

Yesterday, he withdrew some money from the bank. On being asked, he did not give a satisfactory reply to his wife Sujita, who then beat him up with a log of wood used for washing clothes killing him.

The local police lodged a case of accidental death.

After a postmortem today, the victim's uncle lodged a complaint following which Sujita was arrested arrested this evening.

Investigations were on by the local Kalwa police station.
