Durrani advises dissolution of NWFP Assembly
Islamabad, Oct 8 (UNI) After withdrawal of the no-confidence motion, NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani today gave advised the governor for dissolution of the provincial assembly.
Muslim League (Q) MPA Nighat Orakzai said this morning in the provincial assembly that opposition has decided to withdraw the no confidence motion against the Chief Minister, Geo TV reports.
Some members of the opposition opposed the withdrawal of the move against the chief minister but agreed to the decision on the advice of Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan. Speaker later announced to quit the office of speaker and read the text of his resignation letter.
Mr Khan thanked the members of the assembly and adjourned the assembly session for unspecified period.
Mian Nisar Gul, an MPA of Tehrik-e-Insaf, presented his resignation from the assembly membership to the speaker.
Talking to the mediapersons later, Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani said he has given advice to the governor for dissolution of the provincial legislature.
Earlier the Federal Minister for Political Affairs and PML NWFP President Amir Muqam has said the purpose of the no-confidence motion was to avert a possible dissolution of the provincial assembly so that the presidential polls may be conducted smoothly.
Considering that presidential elections had already concluded there is no purpose in moving no-confidence motion.
