80 pc polling recorded in 8 Marathwada Dist
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 8 (UNI) Over 32,000 candidates contesting 2018 gram panchayat seats in Marathwada will have their fate decided here on October 9. the elections for which were held yesterday.
Eight districts of Marathwada region recorded 80 per cent polling, which was by and large peaceful barring a few stray incidents.
The election sources said 186 gram panchayats in Aurangabad district recorded 85 per cent of polling, while 238 panchayats in Jalna district recorded 80 per cent voting. Parbhani district recorded (107 panchayats) 75 per cent, Beed (603 panchayats) 85 per cent, Hingoli (49 panchayats) 75 per cent, Nanded (117 panchayats) 75 per cent, Osmanabad (141 panchayats) 80 per cent and Latur district (308 panchayats) recorded 80 per cent of voting.
About 160 gram panchayats elected their representatives unopposed, the sources added.
