Polling begins for by election in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 7 (UNI) The voting began for by election in ward No 91 of the Nashik Muncipal Corporaion (NMC) at 0730 hrs today.

As many as 7085 voters will decide the fate of seven candidates.

Among those 3781 are men and 3304 are women voters.

Six polling booths have been set up for the election. The staff includes two regional officers, six centre in-charge and eighteen polling officers.

The voting will continue till 1730 hrs. The couning of votes will take place tomorrow, at NMC's Divisional Office.

Police have kept security for the election.

The election was necessitated due to resignation of Shiv Sena (SS) candidate, Vishnu Pawar. Pawar had defeated Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate Shivaji Chumbhale, election which was held six months ago.
