Three farmers booked for burning paddy

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 6 (UNI) In a stringent execution of Green laws, three farmers of Tibbi village near Amloh were booked by police for causing pollution and traffic hazard by burning paddy straw in large amount near a busy road.

On the complaint of the SDM, Amloh the case was registered against three farmers Gurbax Singh, Narang Singh, Bhagwant Singh, under section 188 of the IPC.

The SDM in his complaint said that the three accused had blatantly violated the orders of Fatehgarh Sahib District Magistrate regarding the ban on burning of paddy straw under section 144 of CrPC.

The trio put fire to the straw in their fields, resulting in massive air pollution, hindering the movement of traffic besides posing a danger to other crops and public health.
