Over 6 lakh tonne paddy arrives in Haryana
Chandigarh, Oct 6 (UNI) Over 6.81 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has arrived in various mandis of Haryana so far.
Six government procuring agencies have procured 3.95 lakh tonnes of paddy so far while the millers have purchased 2.85 lakh MTs, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here today.
He said a sum of Rs 985 crore had been arranged as cash credit limit.
The arrival of paddy is picking up since its purchase had been started from September 26.
He said HAFED had procured 1.71 lakh MTs of paddy, Food and Supplies Department 1.28 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 49,265 MTs, Confed 36,411 MTs and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 8755 MTs and Food Corporation of India 950 MTs.
