Rajasthan: 1 held in MLA quarter's murder

Jaipur, Oct 6: Police today arrested a youth in connection with the murder of a teenage girl in the Jyothi Nagar area.

Additional SP (south) Rajesh Singh said Jamal Khan, a resident of Bhogpura slum custer, was arrested in this connection.

The body of an 18-year-old girl, Rekha, was found in a pool of blood with her head smashed in the garage of the quarter of BJP MLA Ramrattan Berva, who represents the Shahpura consituency in Bhilwara district.

Rekha and her mother Usha who worked as a daily wager used to live in the garage.

Mr Singh said Rekha and Jamal had known each other for about two years but for the last few months, their relationship sonoed.

Yesterday, Jamal came to the garage when the girl was alone and tried to overpower her. When she refused, he slammed her head to the ground and she died.
