An official spokesman said today that Minister for Roads and Buildings Gulchain Singh Charak has directed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bandipora to constitute a committee under the charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner to conduct the inquiry.

He said the matter came to light after local people alleged that the officials had misappropriated IAY funds in Gurez.

During his inspection of the 10-bed Sub Health Centre in Boodgam Tulail, the Minister found two contractual doctors absent from duty for the last one month.

Mr Charak issued instructions to the concerned authorities on the spot to take action against the truant doctors and directed the Director Health Services, Kashmir to post two doctors immediately at the Health Centre.
