District Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mithilesh Kumar said so far five persons died after consuming contaminated water and food.

Bermo, Chandakiyari, Petarwar, and Nawadih were the most affected areas despite the arrangements made by the district administration to prevent the disease, he said.

Dr Kumar further added that special camps were being organised in those areas for the treatment and to make people aware about hygiene.
