Cong silent on support to JD-S in K'taka

New Delhi, Oct 6: The Congress today chose to remain cautious about its options in Karnataka after BJP announced withdrawal of its support to the H D Kumaraswamy led coalition government.

Asked for his reaction, Congress spokesperson Abhishek M Singhvi described the scenario in Karnataka as ''unfortunate and pessimistic'' where the voter felt betrayed by ''corruption ridden bad governance'' of the JD (S) and BJP coalition.

As far as Congress is concerned it is prepared to face 'every eventuality' and the party would take appropriate decision as the events unfold, Mr Singhvi said without referring to the JD (S) convening the Karnataka Assembly session on October 18.

The JD (S) has a mere 48 MLAs in a House of 224 members and after withdrawal of support by the BJP which is the largest single group, the party will obviously have to depend on the Congress which had 60 odd members in the Assembly.
