Chakkajam staged to protest negligence of doctors

Katni, MP, Oct 6 (UNI) Angry residents today staged a 'chakkajam' against alleged negligence of doctors that caused death of three patients at Vijayraghavgarh area in this district, police said.

Residents laid bodies of deceased patients on the roads during the three-hour-long road blockade, which ended after the administration assured to take strict action against guilty.

Lakshman Vanshkar and Burman died in a hospital in Vijayraghavgarh due to alleged negligence of doctors. Meerabai, who had come for delivery, was not provided treatment and was asked to go to another hospital. She died while being taken to Katni.

''Prima facie, it appears to be a case of negligence. A report would be submitted to the district administration in this regard,'' Sub-Divisional Magistrate S K Ahirwar said.
