UPSC announces final results of Central Police Forces Exam.

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) A total of 216 candidates have been selected for appointment to the posts of Assistant Commandants in Central Police Forces like BSF, CISF, ITBP, CISF and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), UPSC announced today.

The appointments are based on the result of the written part of Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2006 held by the UPSC on October 8 last year and the interviews for Personality Test held in September this year.

The list comprises 111 General category, 55 Other Backward Classes (OBCs), 36 Scheduled Castes and 14 Scheduled Tribes candidates.

Appointment to various Services will be made according to number of existing vacancies.

The number of vacancies reported for the Border Security Force is 150 (75 General, 41 OBCs, 23 SCs and 11 STs); 131 for the Central Reserve Police Force (97 General, 7 OBCs, 17 SCs and 10 STs); 19 for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (10 General and 9 OBCs); 50 for the Sashatra Seema Bal (19 General, 19 OBCs, 9 SCs and 3 STs); 30 for the Central Industrial Security Force (16 General, 8 OBCs, 4 SCs and 2 STs).

Results of 113 candidates have been withheld due to pending medical report and review appeals.

UPSC said it was maintaining a consolidated reserve list of 102 candidates ranking in order of merit below the last recommended candidates under respective categories.

The commission has set up a Facilitation Counter in its campus for providing information to the candidates regarding their examinations and recruitment, which can be obtained in person or over telephone nos. 011-23385271 / 23381125.

The results are also available on the UPSC website -- http/www.upsc.gov.in. However, marks on the website will be available after 15 days from the date of declaration of results.
