Tata Motors to target South India
Chennai, Oct 5: Tata Motors will target the South Indian market for its newly launched Safari range with new generation 2.2 litre common rail diesel engine.
Talking to newspersons here today, Tata Motors Vice-President S Krishnan said ''we expect to sell more in South India as our earlier vehicles have registered a phenomenal sales here.'' Priced at Rs 7.38 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai), the newly launched 2.2 VTT Dicor engine was equipped with a specially designed turbo charger, he said.
The engine provided a wide torque and was quieter and more fuel efficient, he claimed.
