Mysterious disease claims 6 lives in Jalna

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 5 (UNI) Six deaths reported from different parts of the district from a mysterious disease rocked the Jalna Zilla Parishad (ZP) meeting, about 60 km from here.

According to sources, the meeting was attended by the ZP President Aniruddha Khotkar, Chief Executive Officer S G Waghmare and office-bearers yesterday, who were informed that hundreds of villagers are suffering from some mysterious disease.

The Health Department officials said that they have sent the blood samples of infected patients to the laboratory to detect the cause of the disease and are awaiting the results.

The health officials have been asked to speed up the investigation process and take all the precautionary measures to tackle the situation.

The mysterious disease is reported to have claimed six lives in the last six days. The affected villages include Bhardi, Ghunge, Hadgaon and Hidosa in the district, sources informed.
