Morena, MP, Oct 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today warned the Centre that if the latter did not forward a land allotment policy within a month the state government would begin issuing title deeds to tribals occupying land since December 13, 2005.

''I had written to the Centre regarding the policy and the response is awaited. During the predecessor Congress regime, deeds were issued for disputed land leading to animosity,'' he alleged to mediapersons at a helipad. Mr Chouhan was here to take part in the Ekta Parishad's Janadesh Padyatra 2007.

Speaking in the Padyatra's favour, the Chief Minister felt that non-violent campaigns should not be equated with Naxalism as agitations -- in favour of rights of the poor -- provided an opportunity to get rid of anomalies.

''Development schemes run in Madhya Pradesh are yielding visible results and action is taken against officials responsible for irregularities in schemes,'' he added.

Regarding his announcement made last year, about an underbridge here, Mr Chouhan claimed that the state government would utilise its resources for as central assistance was not forthcoming.
