Man gets 2 year jail term for power theft

Nadiad, Gujarat, Oct 5 (UNI) A man was sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined Rs 2.63 lakh for stealing power.

Additional sessions judge H P Bakshi sentenced Babubhai alias Kesrisinh Gohil resident of Motipura village in Kheda district.

Gohil was caught by the GEB deputy engineer Sunil N Parmar and his staff on March 26, 2004. Later he was asked to pay a fine of Rs 87,742 but Parmar did not pay up following which a case was filed against him.
