Mah govt assures fixing sugarcane prices
Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) Maharashtra Co-operation Minister Patangrao Kadam today said the state government will implement the ministers' committee decision on fixing of sugarcane prices by sugar factories after discussions with their lead banks and considering the availability of funds on their Tagging account.
He gave this assurance at a meeting held in Mantralaya. He said the low price of sugar in the market was a cause of concern.
As per the decision of the Centre to waive off excise to sugar factories for three years, Maharashtra will get Rs 650 crore, out of which 65 per cent will go the farmers and 35 per cent to the labourers.
