Labourers' Welfare Fund: MPHC issues notices

Jabalpur, Oct 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today issued notices to the Union Labour Ministry, state government's Nirman Mazdoor Board and Jabalpur Builders' Association on construction labourers receiving negligible benefits despite crores of rupees being present in the Centre's Labourers' Welfare Fund.

Acting on a public interest plea by the local Nagrik Upbhokta Margdarshak Manch's President P G Najpande, Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik and Justice Ajit Singh ruled that replies to the notices be submitted in four weeks.

The petitioner was represented by advocates Arvind Shrivastav and Dinesh Upadhyay.
