JSW posts 21 pc growth in crude steel production

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) JSW Steel's crude steel production has gone up by 21 per cent in the just ended second quarter.

Production of HR coils, HR plates and pre-painted galvanised coils grew by 13 per cent, 43 per cent and 106 per cent respectively, a release stated today.

The hot strip mill produced 1.363 million tonnes in the first six months of the current financial year attaining a capacity utilization of 109 per cent. While the Crude steel production grew to 7.83 lakh tonnes over the period, HR coils and HR plates grew to 6.85 lakh tonnes and 0.64 lakh tonnes respectively, the release added.
