New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) India can lead the world with hardcore ethical professionalism built through high integrity and domain competence, Delhi Lt Governor Tejender Khanna today said.

Speaking at a function for presentation by the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) of a cheque of Rs 2.10 crore as 30 per cent dividend for the year 2006-07 on behalf of the Delhi Government, the Lt Governor complimented IGL for adhering to high safety standards.

The Managing Director, IGL, Om Narayan presented the dividend cheque to the Lt. Governor. Also present on the occasion was Director, Commercial, Manmohan Singh.

On this occasion the MD apprised the Lt. Governor of IGL's achievements and future expansion plans.

He said IGL would add 10 more Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations by next year to the already existing 153.

Mr Om Narayan said the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network had been extended to 60 locations in Delhi with 85,000 family connections. He said the target for next year was to provide 70,000 more connections in 16 new locations.

A joint venture company of GAIL (India) Ltd. and BPCL, IGL is the sole supplier of CNG and PNG in the capital.

The Delhi Government currently holds five per cent equity stake in IGL. It has declared a 30 per cent dividend for the 2006-07 as compared to dividend of 25 per cent declared in 2005-06.
