HC reserves order in appeal by cops in Khalra murder case

Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today reserved the judgement on the appeals filed against their conviction by six Punjab police officials in murder of a social activist.

The Division Bench of Justice M S Gill and Justice A N Jindal reserved the judgement in the case involving the police officials, including DSP Jaspal Singh and ASI Amarjit Singh, who were sentenced to various terms from seven years to life imprisonment by Special CBI Judge, Patiala for killing human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

The case was probed by the CBI on directions of the Supreme Court in 1995.
