Education should be at affordable cost: Governor

Coimbatore, Oct 5 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala today said more youth from rural villages should come forward to enjoy the fruits of education, which should be available at an affordable cost.

Inaugurating an auditorium at Tamil Nadu College of Engineering near Karumathampatti, he said India was emerging as the world's knowledge power. Information Technology, automobile industries and other sectors were flourishing, he added.

Education methods in the country need to cope with the changing global scenario, he said, adding that mere acquisition of graduation or professional degrees would not suffice as developing good communication skills was necessary.
