Contract killer, aides held after encounter

Badaun, Oct 5 (UNI) Police today arrested a contract killer and his three accomplices after an encounter here.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of some hardened criminals near Samadpur crossing in Islam Nagar area, police reached the spot and cardoned off the area.

On being challenged, the accused opened fire. However, the police swooped on them.

The accused were identified as wanted contract killer Phool Khan, his aides Alam, Kheg Pal alias Nibaura and Mehfooz Khan.

An American pistol and few cartridges were recovered from their possession, SSP Prakash D said.

The arrested were wanted in connection with 18 heinous cases in Agra, Bareilly and Moradabad.
