Centre allots Rs 91109.81 lakh for SSA in NE

Agartala, Oct 5 (UNI) The Centre has assured greater financial flexibility to the North East for better implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in the region.

Official sources here today the Centre during the 11th plan had allocated Rs 91109.81 lakh in this fiscal adding that the fund sharing pattern between the Centre and NE states would remain as 90:10.

Of the total allocation Tripura would get Rs 3031.65 lakh.

Meanwhile, SSA assistance would be available to the other states and Union Territories in the ratio of 65:35 in the first two years of the 11th plan in 2007-08 and 2008-09.

In 2009-10 the ratio would be 60:40, whereas in 2010-11 it would be 55:45 and 50:50 thereafter from 2011-12 onwards, sources said.
