Business Objects opened R & D facility in Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 5: Business Objects, a leading provider of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions has opened its India Development Center (IDC) in the city.

The IDC was focussed on to leverage company's overall research mandate, Keith Budge, senior Vice President and GM, Asia Pacific and Japan, informed here today.

Speaking to news persons he said that the Bangalore center was the fourth R&D facility of BO, after Paris, Vancouver and, Shanghai.

This facility would be developed as the largest Development Center in the world, he said.

Informing that Business Objects was the first and only business intelligence (BI) platform to deliver a complete set of end-to-end BI capabilities, enterprise performance management (EPM), dashboards and visualization, reporting, query and analysis and enterprise information management(EIM).

He said that the US Dollar 1.5 billion company helps transform the way the world works through intelligent information.

The company helps understanding and decision making at more than 44,000 organizations around the world including 300 from India.

Mr Budge said over 30 per cent of company's revenue was employed for Research and Development.

Telecom, banking, retail and manufacturing sectors were benefitted from BI data to improve business processes, he said.

The estimated BI market in Asia pacific would reach 700 million dollars by 2010 and about 5 to 6 per cent would come from India, he added.
