1816 illegal structures demolished in August

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has demolished 1816 illegal structures during the month of August.

Speaking to reporters today, Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak said, ''The corporation has carried out mass demolitions all across the city in the month of August, including shanties, residences and commercial plots.'' Mr Phatak said the BMC generally demolishes the illegal structures and does not allow reconstruction. Filing a criminal complaint is the last resort in such matters.
