BJP's allegations on wheat import baseless: NCP

Mumbai, Oct 4: Nationalist Congress Party today criticised the BJP for levelling allegations against Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar on the wheat import issue.

Talking to reporters here, NCP spokesman Madan Bafna said the BJP had made similiar allegations on the Enron power project. But, had the Enron project continued, the state would not have faced the power crunch it is witnessing now, Mr Bafna said.

The BJP, is now targeting Mr Pawar on the ''wheat issue'', Mr Bafna rued, while adding that the NCP would soon publish a booklet, giving details about the wheat import. The party will also publish booklets on the power situation in the state and on the Sachar Committee recommendations, Mr Bafna said.
