Sugar prices rally on lesser stock arrivals

Navi Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Sugar prices today rallied by Rs 25 per quintal on sustained heavy buying support from bulk consumers, in the face of lesser stock arrivals from mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Prices of small and medium grades (per quintal) went up by Rs 25 and Rs 20 resepctively on brisk bulk and retailer consumers demand in the face of lesser stock arrivals from co-operative mills.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also rose by by Rs 25 and Rs 15 respectively on sustained heavy buying support from dealers.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,350/1,401, Medium grade: Rs 1,390/1,485.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,340/1,370, Medium grade: Rs 1,380/1420.
