Sarpanch and Panchyat secretary suspended

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 3 (UNI) Director Rural Development and Panchyats has suspended village Damheri Sarpanch along with the panchyat secretary over allegations of embezzelment of funds.

According to sources the Director has taken the action against the duo after Block Development and Panchyat Officer (BDPO), Bassi Pathana submitted his report that despite repeated reminders the Sarpanch Rajinder Singh did not present the records indicating that there was embezzlement of Panchayat funds which were misutilised with the help of the Panchyat Secretary Gobinder Singh.

In view of serious allegations leveled against them, the PDPO had observed that both the tainted officials had no right to continue on their posts.
