Property worth several lakhs gutted in fire

Puducherry, Oct 3 (UNI) Property worth several lakhs of rupees were gutted in a fire at a private coconut oil manufacturing unit godown at Manapet in Bahour commune panchayat today.

According to fire service sources, sparks from a transformer near the godown in which a crow was trapped caused the fire.

Five fire tenders were pressed into service to put out the flames, the sources added.

The loss in the mishap was yet to be estimated.
