Malaysian Airlines to extend frequency from Chennai, B'lore

Chennai, Oct 3: Leading airline service provider Malaysian Airlines will extend the frequency of its flights from Chennai and Bangalore.

The airlines in a release here today said the frequency of flights from Bangalore would be increased to four weekly flights from the current three, while the Chennai flights would be increased from seven to nine.

The additional Bangalore flight would start operating every Saturday at 2200 hrs from November 3 while the additional Chennai flights would be operationalised from October 28 on every Thursday and Sunday at 1250 hrs.

With the increase in frequency Malaysian Airlines overall seating capacity from Chennai and Bangalore would increase to 3,607 from the present 2,920.
The airline will operate Airbus 330-300 and Airbus 330-200 on these routes.

With the addition of three weekly flights, the airline will also operate 30 weekly flights from its present five destinations in India-New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore, the release added.
