Indian national presents exclusive coins collection in Sharjah

Dubai, Oct 3 (UNI) Justin Gilbert Lopez, an Indian national, presented his largest collection of coins from over 200 countries at the Indian Association Sharjah (IAS) hall.

Mr Lopez who has made mark in the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records for this special achievement, said ''I have been collecting coins since my school days. I started it for fun but later it became a part of my life.'' The exhibition, which commenced on Sunday, has been organised by by IAS in association with Sharjah Airport Authority.

Showcasing the rarest collection of coins, including a few which dated back to the BC era, the exhibition was inaugurated by Indian Consul-General Venu Rajamony on Sunday night. Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, Ali Salem Al Midfa was also present on the occasion.

''The exhibition is part of our initiatives to promote talented people in different fields. The collection of Justin is interesting for the public, especially the history enthusiasts. So we provided a platform for it, '' the Khaleej Times quoted IAS president K M Mathews as saying.

The exhibition will be on till October 10.
