New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) The Congress Party today said its President Sonia' Gandhi's statement on the Left Opposition to the Indo-US Nuclear deal reflected the party's hope that it would be able to convince the allies and supporters of the ruling coalition on the nuke deal.

"Ms Gandhi's words speak for themselves," AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told mediapersons when her attention was drawn to Ms Gandhi's observations at New York yesterday.

Ms Gandhi, who was in New York to attend the special session of the United Nations General Assembly organised on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, said : ''Sometimes a great deal is made in the public domain of opinions expressed by our friends, but this should not alarm you.'' Ms Natarajan thanked the UNGA for formally declaring October two as "International Day of Peace and Non-Violence" in recognition of the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's satyagraha to the contemporary world, and said the party had again rededicated itself to the ideals of the Father of the Nation.
