2 SSB personnel including SI die in accident

Dehra Dun, Oct 3 (UNI) Two Sashastra Seema Bal personnel were killed and one seriously injured when a jeep they were travelling in, fell into a deep gorge at Champawat district of Uttarakhand today.

According to police, Sub Inspector P K Ghosh (45) died on the spot and Head Constable Jasveender Pal succummed to injuries at Lohaghat Community Health Centre.

Another seriously injured Constable Ramesh Singh has been admitted to Pithoragarh Base Hospital.

The driver was safe with minor injuries, sources added.

All of them belonged to SSB Medical Department.

The ill-fated vehicle was heading towards Raushal from Madlak area at Indo-Tibet border after dispatching medicines at SSB unit when it fell into 300 ft deep gorge near Lohaghat at about 0930 hrs, police said.
