TN CM relief for DMK worker's family

Chennai, Oct 2 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today announced a relief of Rs 50,000 to the family of a partymen who died of heart attack while observing fast on the Sethusamudram issue.

The DMK-led DPA organised state-wide agitation yesterday demanding speedy implementation of the Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project (SSCP) and Mr Udhayasooriayan, a DMK worker, observing fast at Mudhukalathur in Ramanathapuram District, died after he suffered an heart attack.

Mr Karunanidhi announced the relief on behalf of the party, a release from the DMK headquarters here said.
