Lankan Air Force destroys top LTTE hideout
Colombo, Oct 2 (UNI) Sri Lanka Air force destroyed a hideout of a top LTTE leader in Northern Sri Lanka today.
Fighter jets raided a hideout of a very senior LTTE leader early this morning.
Air Force sources were qouted as saying by Colombo Page that the hideout located in Vishvamadu, north of Iranamadu was completely destroyed in the attack.
Defence sources said the target was under air surveillance for a long time while the ground intelligence provided information on recent activities in the camp.
It has also been reported that the hideout also was a frequent meeting place for the LTTE leaders. It was not clear if the Tiger leaders were present there when the raid was carried out.
