International day against violence observed in Manipur

Imphal, Oct 2 (UNI) The International Day against violence was observed in Manipur today on the occassion of Gandhiji's 138th birth anniversary.

The main function was held at the Gandhi Memorial (GM) hall here, where Governor Dr S S Sidhu, Speaker Dr S Buddhichandra, other cabinet ministers, MLAs, officials and large numbers of people offered floral tributes to the Father of the nation.

Speaking at a function at the Congress Bhawan here, Speaker Dr S Buddhichandra said Indians were lucky that such a man was born in the country,he added.
