Gambari returning to Myanmar in November - sources
UNITED NATIONS, Oct 2 (Reuters) UN envoy Ibrahim Gambari expects to return to Myanmar in November following his four-day visit, an attempt to stop a crackdown on protests against the ruling junta, UN sources said.
Gambari, a UN undersecretary-general sent to Myanmar by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, is coming back to New York on Friday after carrying a message from opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi to the military government.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Gambari was returning to Myanmar at the beginning of November at the request of the government. They did not give further details.
