Former Karanataka Legislator passed away

Mysore, Oct 02 (UNI) Former Karnataka Legislator and Janata Dal (United) leader A S Guruswamy died of cardiac arrest in a private hospital today.

He was 63 and survived by wife, three daughters and a son.

The deceased had represented Chamundeshwari assembly seat in Karnataka Assembly during 1999-2004. He also contested in the by-elections held recently in Mysore last year as a JD(U) candidate against former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Mr Siddaramaiah.

The deceased also served as the president of Mysore taluk panchayath. The last rites of the deceased will be conducted at his native village in Mysore taluk.
