Ex-MLA Guruswamy dead

Mysore, Oct 2 (UNI) Former Karnataka Legislator and Janata Dal (United) leader A S Guruswamy died of cardiac arrest in a private hospital today.

He was 63. He is survived by wife, three daughters and a son.

Representing Chamundeshwari constituency in the Assembly during 1999-2004, he had unsuccessfully contested in the recent by-elections as a JD(U) candidate against former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Guruswamy had served as President of Mysore Taluk Panchayat.

The last rites would be held at his native village in Mysore taluk.
